Apple Brownies

These were a big hit with family, friends, and a BBQ.

For this you will need:

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
1-2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups apples (about 2-3 apples), peeled, cored, and chopped
1/2 cup chopped walnut
2 cups flour
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.

Stir in apples and nuts. (I omitted the nuts on this one as Errol doesn’t care for them.)

In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

Fold into apple mixture and pour batter into a greased 9″ x 13″ pan.

Bake for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted is clean. The top will have subtle cracks. Let it cool before you cut it into bars.
