Canva is a website that helps you make a variety of things. Posts, business cards, signs, and flyers, just to name a few.
On Canva.com you can create many different designs with a multitude of fonts to choose from. I wanted to make a Labor Day post, and I used Canva to do so.
Upon entering the Canva site, I chose make a design. I then chose the Facebook post option which brings up a blank square for you to fill. I then went to Pixabay and typed in Labor Day to the search bar. A page of options for the search came up. I chose the one that I liked and I saved it to my desk top.
Going back to Canva, I chose upload, and then upload from my own images. Yoy can then choose the picture from Pixabay that you downloaded and upload it onto Canva.
When the picture you want appears under upload your own images, it is ready for you to slide it over onto your blank facebook square.
To make a Facebook post you want the picture to fill the blank square as best you can. I only wanted the side with the star, so I stretched and moved the picture until just the star picture filled the blank.
If you wish to add any text, (I like to put my website on it,) then you choose the text option and pick the text that you like.
When you select the font you like, it will appear in the middle of your picture. You can choose to keep all or delete part by clicking on the section you wish to delete and using the trash can in the upper right corner.
I only wanted the font that said astrid smith, so I deleted the other element of writing. I then wrote in my website, and moved the square of text around to the way I wanted it. I changed the size and the color of the text using the options above the picture.
The picture is now the way I want it, so I will now download it onto my desktop using the download button at the top of the page.
To schedule it to post I then loaded it onto Word Press and scheduled it to post at 9:00 a.m. this morning.
