Last Sunday, March 24th, was Maple Sunday in Maine.
Celebrated on the fourth Sunday in March each year, Maine Maple Sunday is an event celebrating the coming of spring, and the delicious treats that can be made from the sugary syrup.
Each of the nearly 100 participating sugarhouses in the state offer different events and activities. Hayrides, face-painting, tours of the sap lines, and the sampling of some of the sweet treats made with the delicious syrup.
My daughter Sam took her 3 girls down to Wells, Maine to visit Chase’s Farm on Maple Sunday. The girls were thrilled to see some baby animals.
There was also plenty of “sampling” going on!
They ended the day with getting their faces painted!
The girls had a great time, and couldn’t wait to tell us all about it!
